The date for the highly anticipated Gayming Awards 2024 has been announced. Taking place on June 25, the event will once again celebrate the best in LGBTQ gaming, coinciding with the observance of Pride Month.
The awards show will shine a spotlight on the top games with LGBTQ themes from 2023. It will also honor game designer Jeremy Crawford with the prestigious Gayming Icon 2024 award. Crawford is renowned for his work as the lead designer on Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Additionally, five LGBTQ streamers will be inducted into the LGBTQ Streamer Rising Star Class.
Among the major nominees for the Gayming Awards 2024 are Baldur’s Gate 3, which has already received numerous accolades at major awards shows such as the BAFTAs and The Game Awards. Other notable contenders include Final Fantasy XVI, Thirsty Suitors, and Stray Gods. The complete list of nominees can be found on the official website.
Categories at the Gayming Awards 2024 include Game of the Year, Industry Diversity Award, Authentic Representation Award, Best LGBTQ+ Character Award, Best LGBTQ+ Indie Game Award, LGBTQ+ Streamer of the Year Award, Best LGBTQ+ Contribution to Esports Award, and LGBTQ+ Geek Entertainment Moment of the Year.
Last year’s Gayming Awards honored Cult of the Lamb with the Game of the Year Award, while games like Stray and Wylde Flowers were also recognized for their LGBTQ+ representation.
The Gayming Awards 2024 will be streamed on IGN as part of the Summer of Gaming event, which includes IGN Live and other exciting content.
