CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR3) support, despite the recent shift in focus for the development team. In a statement to IGN, a CD Projekt Red spokesperson assured fans that FSR3 support is still being worked on, although an update on its availability was not provided.

The announcement of FSR3 support sparked speculation among players, with some expressing concerns that it had been canceled due to the development team’s shift in focus. However, recent changes to the game’s backend on the PC platform Steam suggest that an update may be on the horizon.

FSR3 is a technology that increases frame rates through supersampling, offering enhanced performance for players with high-end gaming rigs. It has been implemented in other games such as Immortals of Aveum and Starfield.

CD Projekt Red recently concluded the development of Cyberpunk 2077 with the release of its only expansion, Phantom Liberty. The game received significant updates, including the game-changing Update 2.0, which introduced a new perk system and improved AI. Patch 2.11 and 2.12 followed to address bugs and provide additional polish.

While the release date for FSR3 support in Cyberpunk 2077 remains uncertain, its inclusion demonstrates CD Projekt Red’s commitment to improving the game and delivering an enhanced experience for players. The developer is now focusing on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Orion, as well as upcoming Witcher games.
