Helldivers 2 Patch Adds Yet Another Way to Die from Friendly Fire
If you’re a Helldivers 2 player, chances are you’ve experienced your fair share of deaths from friendly fire. It’s all part of the game’s charm, really. Many of us have found ourselves apologizing over our headsets as our fellow Helldivers are inadvertently taken out by a stray bullet or two. And now, as part of a comprehensive patch that brings adjustments, fixes, and improvements, developer Arrowhead Studios has introduced a change to ricochets that adds yet another way for players to die from friendly fire.
According to the patch notes, shots that ricochet from heavy-armored enemies will now “properly” hit the Helldiver who fired them. In other words, if you shoot at a heavily armored enemy and your shot ricochets, it can now come back and harm you. This change adds an extra layer of challenge and caution to the game, as players will need to exercise trigger discipline and be mindful of their surroundings.
Arrowhead Studios advises Helldivers 2 players to exercise caution and recommends trigger discipline to avoid accidentally injuring themselves or their teammates. It’s another reminder to be mindful of your actions in the chaotic and fast-paced battles of the game.
The Helldivers series is known for its intense cooperative gameplay, where communication and coordination are essential for success. Friendly fire has always been a risk, adding an element of unpredictability to the gameplay. While it can be frustrating to inadvertently cause harm to your teammates, it also adds to the sense of camaraderie and shared experience among players.
The latest patch not only introduces this new ricochet mechanic but also includes a range of adjustments, fixes, and improvements aimed at enhancing the overall gameplay experience and supporting players in their democratic endeavors. As Helldivers continue to fight for the future of humanity, it’s important to remember to exercise caution and maintain trigger discipline to minimize friendly fire incidents.
So, fellow Helldivers, be mindful of your shots, watch out for ricochets, and continue to work together to overcome the challenges that lie ahead in the ongoing fight against alien forces. Good luck, and may your trigger discipline keep you and your fellow Helldivers safe!
